Drawing The Places You Love

Saturday 26th July

Gallery White Box, 5 Hare and Billet Rd, Blackheath, London, SE3 0RB
This workshop is an invitation to step away from the city for a few hours and reconnect with meaningful places in nature through expressive drawing.

Led by artist James D Wilson as part of his residency at Gallery White Box in Blackheath Village, this relaxed, in-person session will guide you in creating a series of single-colour landscape drawings. Using water-soluble crayons and paper, you’ll explore different drawing styles, scales, and levels of detail.

You'll be taking inspiration from that collection of nature photos tucked away on your phone—perhaps from a favourite walk, a special trip, or a hidden spot only you know.

What to Bring
All materials are provided—just come with six digital images of your favourite natural places, saved on a fully charged phone. (We’re focusing on the natural world, so please choose images without buildings.)

Who’s it for?
This workshop is open to all levels—no experience needed. Just bring your curiosity and a willingness to experiment!
  • Ages 18+
  • Tea and coffee provided
